From January to March of 2008 John Newling was the first resident artist for the Lincoln Collection. This publication documents and critically reviews Newling’s thoughts and actions during this important period of time in the evolution of his thinking. The book fully illustrates all the transactions, processes and installations that led to the construction of a unique soil. It also has a major essay written by the artist entitled ‘From My Garden; Being Human in the Anthropocene era’ that lays the foundations of thoughts that inform many of the artists current works
