Ecologies of Value, 20th July – 14th September 2013

November 7, 2013

The Exchange Gallery, Penzance. Curated by Blair Todd

The exhibition moved on from Nottingham Contemporary to the Newlyn/Exchange gallery in Penzance. The Exchange Gallery is a relatively new space. I worked with the team at the gallery, led by the curator Blair Todd, and spent a week installing this version of ‘Ecologies of Value’. It was a really good week getting to know the space and how the works could be within it. I added two extra works from the original show. It did feel a little like Nottingham was taking over Cornwall this summer as the excellent ‘Aquatopia’ exhibition was also arriving at Tate St Ives a few weeks after ‘Ecologies of Value’ had closed. It was a perfect excuse to brag about the artists, studios, events and venues that Nottingham has and is evolving.
